Before RAW magazine, Francoise planned to use her printing press to share this French magazine from the early 1900’s. Much of it still hasn’t been reprinted, so this week we’ve scanned pages from our crumbling copies.
L’Assiette Au Beurre was a sophisticated and satirical illustrated journal published between 1901 and 1912. Each issue was devoted to one artist who tackled social topics during the Belle Époque. We’re sharing from the issues on The Aesthetes, Women’s Suffrage, and “all the young gentlemen” (gay life in Paris).
